Project Fund
The Executive have made available $10000 to be allocated to successful applications from financial Society members to the Project Fund. Applications are closed until September 2009. Email admin at hydrologynz.org.nz

The NZHS Project Fund is a fund available annually and administered
by the Executive of the New Zealand Hydrological Society.
PURPOSE
The NZHS Project fund is to:
- Encourage projects that further the science of
hydrology and its application in New Zealand
- Make available a source of funding
for members to pursue projects that raise the profile of hydrology
- Allow funds
not required for operational purposes to be used in furthering the goals
of the Society.
The NZHS Project Fund cannot be used to fund ongoing courses of study, or
as a travel grant to attend scientific meetings.
CONDITIONS FOR APPLICATIONS
- The project fund is contestable and applicants must submit a full description
of their planned work in the format specified.
- Applications must be made to the Administration, New Zealand Hydrological Society,
PO Box 12300, Wellington or admin@hydrologynz.org.nz.
- Only applications from current financial member of the NZHS will be accepted.
- Criteria for assessment will relate to the Society's mission statement,
and the extent to which proposals complement the existing initiatives of
the NZHS. Our mission is: to further the science of hydrology and its application
to the understanding and management of New Zealand's water resources by:
promoting hydrological research;
promoting education in all aspects of hydrology;
disseminating information through the publication of a scientific journal,
newsletters, and other appropriate means; and hosting meetings and conferences
for the interchange of research findings, information and experience.
FUND OPERATION
- The Executive is to decide on an allocation of funds
to the Project Fund.
- The Project Fund is to be advertised on the Society's website and via the listserver when open for applications.
- Financial reporting on the fund is to be included in the Hydrological
Society's annual financial statements.
- The Executive can choose to spend less than the allocation of funds.
