HYDROLOGIST - WATER RESOURCES

We are looking for a Hydrologist to join the team! In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that we have a reliable supply of clean, safe water to Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) through the operation and maintenance of our Hydrometric network. You will collect and analyse our hydrology data.
Other duties include:
Maintaining effective communication and supporting the operational management of the water supply system
Calibration of hydrometric instruments and sensors.
Responsible for hydrology projects including new permanent monitoring installations and temporary investigations
Management of our hydrological databases and providing data analysis and reporting
Maintain data for water resource accounting and balancing

A passion for Auckland's environment and waterways
A relevant tertiary level qualification (a qualification in engineering/environmental science is desirable)
2+ years experience in environmental field data collection, data analysis, and report preparation is desirable
Familiarity with QA systems such as ISO and National Environmental Monitoring standards
A current NZ driver's license with the ability to drive large manual 4WD
Computer literacy, with competency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
Proven knowledge of safety in and around water and the ability to swim 50m.
