Our Groundwater field team uses modern instrumentation, telemetry and data systems to collect, manage and report a large amount of groundwater level and quality data. We have an opportunity for a Senior Science Technician to contribute their technical knowledge and enthusiasm to the monitoring of Canterbury’s groundwater system.

The role will involve working alongside our technicians, analysts and scientists to deliver long term monitoring and specific investigations or projects. You will scope, install and maintain monitoring sites and help us expand our network of continuous groundwater monitoring instruments.

You will be required to review and develop procedures to ensure robust data collection and data management. And there is a great opportunity to help deliver projects that drive our data collection and management forward to more efficient processes and better data quality.

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:

• Excellent knowledge of environmental monitoring techniques

• Experience with the operation and maintenance of instruments

• The ability to identify, investigate and resolve data issues

• The ability to turn an idea into on the ground action

• The vision to develop and improve processes

• Physical competence and practical knowledge for site installations

• A positive and inclusive team attitude

You will require at least 3 years technical experience plus a relevant qualification.
