We have an exciting position for an Environmental Analyst - Water Quality now available within Council’s Environmental Monitoring and Science Section.

  • Develop quality assurance/quality control systems and processes to manage environmental data collection in line with National Environmental Monitoring Standards (NEMS)

  • Provide technical support and assistance to science, resource consents, compliance and policy development

  • Carry out and State of the Environment monitoring, including river, groundwater and coastal water quality sampling programs.

  • Undertake data analysis, reporting and designing environmental data reporting products on data collected from our environmental monitoring programs

Ideal candidates must be able to swim, legally work in NZ and drive a manual vehicle. Your strong science skills will be complemented by a can-do attitude and keenness for involvement in both fieldwork and management of the critical environmental data which is collected. You won’t be afraid to do plenty of driving and get your hands dirty from time to time!  If you think you have what it takes and can see yourself contributing to our environment and community, we would love to hear from you!
