The role

We are currently recruiting for either an Environmental Data Technician or an Assistant Environmental Data Technician. The assistant role would be trained in house and study to gain the Diploma in Hydrology.

About you 

The successful applicant will be predominantly field-based completing a variety of work including river gauging, rainfall and water quality data collection, site design and installation of scientific field sensors and communications for real-time data. You will need to embrace new technology but also be equally comfortable completing physical manual work with hand tools. You will need to be self-motivated and capable of taking ownership of completing your work efficiently and to a high standard.  You will also need to be able to work by yourself but be equally comfortable working closely in a team. 

The right candidate may have or be heading towards a degree or trade based qualifications in electronics, telemetry communications, or environmental science or a school graduate with high grades in mathematics, science and English. 

Significant on job training is required and as such we would consider graduates, trainees or qualified trade staff looking for a change in career.
